Recycling uptick leads to changes

Recycling in up in the county and that's good news for the environment.

Scott Cisco, district coordinator of the Auglaize County Solid Waste Management District, said Wednesday that drop-offs at the St. Marys Township Recycling Center are up 25 percent.

"We're up here too, there have been more walk-ins," Cisco said from his office at the Auglaize County Recycles center north of St. Marys. "Overall, for 2017, we're up one million pounds over 2016.

More recycling means more work for Cisco and his crew … and a few changes are being made to improve efficiency.
