Randy Stettler, 60

September 18, 2012

Randy Stettler, 60, was reunited with his family in Heaven July 6, 2012.
He was born Feb. 18, 1952, to Phyllis (Fruch-ey) and Allen (Ted) Stettler, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 23, 1990, he married his best friend and soulmate, Mary Catherine Stuber who survives. They had an extraordinary 34 years together. Every day was an adventure.
They had a self-adopted daughter, Kama Hope Dunlap (John) Stokes, and their son, Trevor.
He had many aunts and an uncle and many cousins, who loved him. He had many, many good friends. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Stettler and Robert Stettler.
After graduating from Indian Lake High School in 1970 he joined the U.S. Air Force.
Randy was employed for 26 years as a landscaper. He worked for Stoney Ridge Nursery of Lima, and in 2007 he retired from the former Village Green Garden Center in Wapakoneta.
His hobbies included fishing, flower gardening, Nascar and the Cleveland Browns. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife.
On Sept. 22, 2012 the family is planning a memorial party (at Randy’s request) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for family and friends to get together and share their memories and have fun at Fort Amanda Park, northwest of Wapakoneta on State Route 198.
There will be military honors at noon followed by a picnic dinner. A covered dish would be appreciated. Please come and share your memories of Randy too.
