Police probe thefts from automobiles

Several complaints of thefts and vehicles being entered were reported to the Wapakoneta Police Department.

According to the report, the majority of vehicles were rummaged through for change some time between Sunday night, Aug. 31, and Monday morning, Sept. 1. Vehicles were reported parked in varying locations, including driveways and streets. 

Complaints were reported from the following locations: 500 block of East Pearl Street, 300 and 500 blocks of West Mechanic Street, 300 block of Jefferson Street, 600 and 400 blocks of West Auglaize Street, and the 200 block of Logan Street.

Reported stolen items included cash, change, identification cards, a stereo system, purses, wallets and checkbooks. 

The case remains under investigation. Any additional reports of stolen items should be reported to the Wapakoneta Police Department.
