Police investigate panic report

Wapakoneta police officers are investigating an incident of inducing panic.

A police officer made contact with employees at the NAPA store, 8 Pearl St., at 10 a.m. Saturday about a complaint they received early Thursday morning from a female informing store employees that they may be in some sort of danger from a male possessing firearms.

According to the report, later in the day, it was learned that the allegations were false and there was no danger.

Wapakoneta Police Chief Russ Hunlock said he could not comment further as the report was not complete and no additional information was available.
