Paul Kohler, 89, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012.
He was born Oct. 21, 1922 in Auglaize County, to Clara (Puthoff) and August “Gus” Kohler, who preceded him in death. On April 17, 1948, he married Clara R. Kreitzer, who survives in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are a daughter, Barb (Jim) Price, of Wapakoneta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert “Herbie” Kohler, and a sister, Anna Kohler.
Paul was born and raised on the family homestead. He was a lifelong farmer and a steward of the soil. He was always very particular with anything he did, had a very strong work ethic and always enjoyed being outside and anything related to farming. He also enjoyed going to Berlet’s Farm Service to converse with area farmers. He was an Auglaize County Farm Bureau member. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church where he also attended school in Wapakoneta.
Mass of Christian Burial is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 8, 201 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. Matt Lee officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Wapakoneta.
