Paul Edward Fisher, 92

Paul Edward Fisher, 92, of Ft. Jennings, died at 11:29 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at The Meadows of Kalida. He was born on June 16, 1921, in Putnam County, to Albert H. and Genevieve (Mescher) Fisher, who preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Theresa Fisher in April of 1945, and she preceded him in death on Jan. 3, 2010.

He enjoyed livestock, dairy cattle and going to livestock sales. He also loved the Lawrence Welk Show. Paul made his living as a farmer and by hauling livestock. He was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ft. Jennings.

He is survived by two sons, Philip (Alice) Fisher of Ft. Jennings and John (Carol) Fisher of Columbus Grove, and two daughters, Dorothy (Tom) Mershman of Columbus Grove and Jane (Tom) Neidzwiecki of Beaver Creek. Other survivors include eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Fisher, and his sister, Margaret Askins.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Friday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Father Norbert Howe will be officiating. Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Ft. Jennings.

A visitation will occur on Thursday, Jan. 9 from 2-8 p.m. at Harter and Schier Funeral Home. There will be a parish wake to begin at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
