Odella A. Braun, 85

Odella A. Braun, 85, of rural Botkins, died at 8:24 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2014, at the Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys. She was born Oct. 30, 1928, in Rhine, Ohio, the daughter of John and Anna Marie (Steinke) Greve, who preceded her in death. On Aug. 27, 1952, she married Ardeen F. Braun, and he survives.

Other survivors include, nine children, Joyce (Robert) Thorpe, John (Anne) Braun, Mark (Patti) Braun, Nicholas (Daleen) Braun, Sharon (Leonard) Szuba, Elaine (Greg) Byer, Matthew (Sharon) Braun, Luke (Kathy) Braun and Frank (Sherri) Braun; 28 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marie Gerstner and Gertrude Kondracki.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, seven great-grandchildren and three brothers, Joseph, Julius and Lawrence Greve.

Odella was a homemaker and a farm wife. She was a member of the Only Believe Ministries Christian Center in Botkins. A 1947 graduate of Botkins Local High School, she was a member of the Sewing Circle and the Rambling Ohio Winnies Camping Club. She and her husband Ardeen wintered in Texas for several years. She was a wonderful baker and cook and enjoyed gardening, making crafts and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thurday, July 3, 2014, at the Only Believe Ministries Christian Center, in Botkins, with Pastor Peter Doseck officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Cemetery in Fryburg. The family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials may be directed to the Only Believe Ministries.
