Norman Hager, 85
Norman E. Hager, 85, of rural Wapakoneta, died at 6:08 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2012, in the emergency room at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima.
He was born March 12, 1927, in Kossuth, the son of Vida (Richardson) and Martin Hager, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 23, 1956, he married Joan Spees Fiebelkorn, and she died Nov. 21, 2007.
Surviving are a son, Jon (Candy) Hager, of Wapakoneta; six grandchildren, Rick Fiebelkorn, Jeff Fiebelkorn, Mark (Chelsie Mallow) Fiebelkorn, Desiree Fiebelkorn, Taylor Hager, and Mya Hager; a brother, Maurice (Wanita) Hager, of Spencerville; and a sister, Letha (Don) Method, of New Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by a step-son and step-daughter-in-law, Fred (Deb) Fiebelkorn.
A lifelong farmer, Norman was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, Wapakoneta. His other memberships included the Auglaize County Farm Bureau, and Brands Fishing Club. He was a graduate of Spencerville High School, and enjoyed farming and raising hogs.
Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Steven Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
