No write-ins filed in county

September 1, 2011

Auglaize County Elections Board Director Carolyn Campbell

With the deadline for write-in candidates to file to run for office in Auglaize County passing Monday, no one has filed.
Auglaize County Elections Board Director Carolyn Campbell said the passing of the deadline to file as a write-in finalizes the list of candidates for the Nov. 8 general election.
A few positions remain with no candidates, including Cridersville Village Council, for which no candidates filed but two positions are open; Uniopolis Village Council, for which one candidate has filed but there are two open seats; and the Auglaize County Educational Service Center, for which two candidates have filed but there are three open seats.
In surrounding counties, with overlapping jurisdictions, no candidate has filed for an unexpired
term ending in 2013 for the Allen County Educational Service Center and only one person has filed for two open seats on the Hardin County Educational Service Center’s Governing Board.
Three candidates did file as write-ins in Allen County for the Spencerville School District, which has a small overlap in Logan Township in Auglaize County. The school district had one candidate who filed and two open seats.
Campbell said she hadn’t heard from other surrounding counties about write-in candidates that may have filed.
