Next Friday Wapakoneta High School’s performing arts center will be buzzing while the cast and crew of the Music Man host their debut performance at 7:30 p.m.

For junior Sara Foor this is her first leading role in all three years she has been doing musicals. Foor will be playing Marian opposite her senior boyfriend, Austin Drake, who is no stranger to being the lead in the high school musical.

Foor said taking on the leading role has been a difficult process with memorizing her lines, but a good experience.

“It’s been challenging, but its been a good challenge,” Foor said. “I like it. Just actually memorizing them and making sure they are perfect all the time.”

Foor said it is a bit easier for her to memorize the funnier parts of her role, and the conversational dynamic between her Marian and Drake’s Harold Hill helps out too.

“The funnier parts, I tend to remember those better,” she said. “The fact that they’re normal conversations that we would kind of have now, they kind of help in remembering them.”
