Mildred M. ‘Millie’ Mertz, 73

Mildred M. ‘Millie’ Mertz, 73, of Lima, died Friday at her residence. She was born April 8, 1941, in Wood County, Ohio, to Robert William and Jennie Catharine Phillips Crow, who preceded her in death. She married James Warren Mertz on Aug. 6, 1961, and he preceded her in death on June 6, 1993.

Millie had been a bowling coach for children at Moreo Lanes, Northland and Westgate Lanes. She was an Ohio State Youth Leader for Youth Bowling Association and a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1960.
Survivors include three daughters, Cindy (Tony) Dellaidotti, of Yuma, Ariz., Carol Green, of Lima, and Sue (Bill) Meeker, of Lima; a son-in-law, Guy Alexander; a sister, Naomi (Marion) Layman, of Luckey, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Joel Green, Jeff Green, Kellen Dellaidotti, Logan, Lauren and Luke Alexander and Elena Meeker; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Walsh, of Lima.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Monday, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, in Cridersville.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 6 at the funeral home, with Pastor Dan Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Allentown Cemetery.
