Mildred Craft, 87
Mildred Margaret “Millie” Rayburn Porter Craft, 87, of Wapakoneta, died Sunday, July 31, 2011, at her residence of natural causes.
She was born Jan. 22, 1924, in Clark Co., the daughter of Florence Margaret (Pilcher) and John Charles Rayburn, Sr., who preceded her in death. On Aug. 1, 1942, she married Harold Russell Porter, Sr., and he died in Feb. 1951. Then in Oct. 1955, she married Frederick Andrew Craft, and he died in Aug. 2005.
Surviving are two sons, James Harvey Porter, Las Vegas, Charles Edward Porter, of Wapakoneta; two daughters, Nancy Ann Oliver, Alabama, Allena Ann King, both of Wapakoneta; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Harold Russell Porter, Jr., Richard Eugene Porter; a daughter, Paula Jean Sandlin; a grandson, Harry Towbridge; and a brother, John Charles Rayburn, Jr.
A homemaker, Millie worked 20 years at Jake’s Tavern in Botkins, and also worked at the Alpha Café in Wapakoneta from 1976 to 1992. She was a long time resident of Ohio, beginning at birth near Springfield, then in Uniopolis, Botkins, and Wapakoneta.
Private services will be held later at the convenience of the family.
