Mildred M. â€śMillieâ€ť Bowsher, 96, of Wapakoneta, died 1:25 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at The Gardens of Wapakoneta.
She was born March 29, 1916, in Prentiss, the daughter of Frances (Schroeder) and Hubert Niese, who preceded her in death. On May 3, 1943, she married Charles B. Bowsher, and he died May 5, 1990.
Surviving are five children, Carol (Ed) Nelson, of Parsons Bury, Md., Dennis Bowsher, of Wapakoneta, Mary (Wayne) Kettler, of Eustis, Fla., Linda (Pat) McDermott, of Springfield, Mo., and Edward (Maggie) Bowsher, of Wapakoneta; eight grandchildren, Tony (Beth) Nelson, Karen (Steve) Klima, Michael (Linda) Nelson, Paul Michael Kettler, Will Bowsher, Samantha Bowsher, Cullen McDermott, and Ryan McDermott eight great-grandchildren, Jim Nelson, Aaron Nelson, Christopher Nelson, Emily Klima, Abigail Klima, David Nelson, Hope Nelson, and Matthew Nelson; a brother, Robert (Eula) Niese, of Wapakoneta; three sisters, Margaret Hutchinson, of Wapakoneta, Ardella (Robert) Oksanen, of Wapakoneta, and Theresa Nagel, of Wapakoneta; and a sister-in-law, Dolly Niese, of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Mathias Niese, infant Billy Niese, Linus â€śDickâ€ť Niese, Alvin Niese, and Gilbert Niese; a sister, Edna Williams; and two brothers-in-law, Bud Hutchinson & William Nagel.
Millie was a caregiver and cook. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, and a long time member of the Legion of Mary.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Long & Folk Chapel, 13 South Blackhoof St., Wapakoneta.
Contributions may be directed to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Renovation Fund or the St. Ritaâ€™s Hospice.
