Michael Glen Stearns, 49, of Augusta, Ga., formerly of Wapakoneta, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in Augusta, Ga.  He was born Sept. 2, 1964, in Lima, the son of Richard Glen and Audrey (Cull) Stearns.  His parents survive in Wapakoneta.

Other survivors include, three siblings, Joseph Stearns and  Daniel Stearns, both of Wapakoneta, and Janet (Michael) Pettifor, Cassopolis, Mich., and their daughter, Atalie (Andrew) Goffeney, Fla.; 3 half-brothers, Willie (Linda) Pilgrim, Ft. McMurray, Alberta, Canada, Boyd (Elsie) Cull, Ignace, Ontario, Elvis (Belinda) Loder, Ft. McMurray, Alberta, and their children, Leon, Corey, Bradley and Kayla Pilgrim, Jody (Greg) Waldoc, Joshua Loder and Aimee (Jamie) Budden.

Mike was a machinist and worked at the Monarch Machine Tool Co., Sidney, On Time Machine Co., Wapakoneta, as well as several other places.  He graduated from Wapakoneta High School and Apollo Joint Vocational School with a Machine Tool Operations certificate.  Mike was a Baptist and a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.  An avid fisherman, he was a former member of the Auglaize Fish & Game Club.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, state Route 501, Wapakoneta, with Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating.  Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery,
Wapakoneta. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
