Michael E. McBeth Sr., 74

Michael E. McBeth Sr., 74, passed away at 11 p.m. July 16, 2014, at Lost Creek Care Center. He was born October 4, 1939 in Wapakoneta, to Lester and Betty Haley McBeth who have preceded him in death. On December 18, 1963 he married Marilyn L. Mort McBeth who survives in Harrod.

He was a graduate of Buckland High School and served in the United States Air Force in Korea. He worked at Timmerman Ford in Lima for many years before working as a warehouse supervisor at Pro Source One in Pandora until his retirement in 2004. In his free time, he loved to be in his flower and vegetable gardens and spend time outdoors. His flower garden specialty was the Moon Flower. He also enjoyed collecting all scales of semi-trucks and loved receiving compliments on his sporty silver and blue Dodge Magnum.

Survivors include his five children, Robert (Mary) McBeth of Cridersville, Keith McBeth of Lima, David  (Luanne) McBeth of Lima, and Cheryl Welch of Huntsville; four sisters, Pat (Chester) Barrett of Wapakoneta, Jean (Bob) Shartzer of Ottawa, Judy  McCoy of Wapakoneta, and Betty Lou (Bill) Cotterman of Wapakoneta;  twelve grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Michael E. McBeth Jr.

Services will be held Monday, July 21, 2014 at 2:30 p.m. at Chiles – Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Eastside Chapel. Pastor Terry Anderson will officiate the service. Entombment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call from 12:30 pm until the time of services Monday at the funeral home.
