Mary Patricia ‘Pat’ Stippich, 86

Mary Patricia ‘Pat’ Stippich, 86, of Lima, died at 2:38 p.m. Thursday, Sept., 1, 2011, at St. Rita’s Medical Center, in Lima. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
She was born July 3, 1925, to the late Alberta M. (McPheron) and William Francis O’Neill. She married James Richard Stippich on Jan. 24, 1946, and he died April 27, 1995.
She is survived by three sons, James “Mike” (Karen) Stippich, of Marietta, Ga., William “Bill” (Cindy) Stippich, of Lima, and Robert (Chrissy) Stippich, of Lima; five daughters, Sandy (Louie) Wisniewski, of Jackson, Mich., Diane (Tom) Rothers, of Chagrin Falls, Nancy (Mike) Mazur, of Wapakoneta, Jan (Jeff) Bates, of Perrysburg, and Beth (Art) Hohman, of Westlake; 13 grandchildren, Brian Wisniewski, Kristin McMinn, Paula Causie, April Abraham, Erik Stippich, Michael Stippich, Paul Stippich, Nicole Goodnight, Tiffany Mazur, Abby Burnett, Austin Hohman, Emma Hohman, and Brandon Hohman; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Eugene “Duck” O’Neill, of Brooklyn, Mich.
Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Edward O’Neill and J. Thomas O’Neill.
She was a lifelong member of St. Gerard’s Catholic Church where she served as organist for 64 years and received a papal blessing from Pope John Paul II for her years of service at the church.
She was a member of the Elks Golf League and Elks Bowling League for many years. She volunteered at St. Rita’s Medical Center and was a member of the Eagles Auxilliary. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family plans to accept friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home, where a wake service is planned for 8 p.m. Monday.
A mass of Christian burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church with the Rev. James Szobonya officiating.
Burial is to be in Gethsemani Cemetery, in Lima.
Donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
