Mary Copeland-Shade, 74

Mary A. Copeland-Shade, 74, of Botkins, died at 7:24 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health Systems, following a brief illness.
She was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Cincinnati, to Lavina Nuss and Raymond L. Gretsinger, who preceded her in death. On Feb. 18, 1955, she married Robert E. Copeland Sr., and he preceded her in death on Aug. 1, 1983. On Aug. 10, 1985, she married Paul E. Shade, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 12, 1992.
Mrs. Shade was a retired cook with Wapakoneta Schools and a weigh master at Spring Creek Corp. She was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed crocheting, going to casinos and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are five children, Cheri (Donald Neidemire, of Wapakoneta, Daniel (Theresa) Copeland, of Wapakoneta, David (Barbara) Copeland, of Wapakoneta, Robert (Robin) Copeland Jr., of Wapakoneta, and Ted (Grace) Copeland, of Wapakoneta, 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; her companion and best friend of more than 20 years, Mike Miller; two brothers, Robert Gretsinger, of North Carolina, and Donald (Becky) Gretsinger, of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Frances Copeland, of Troy; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, Alvina and Edward Copeland; a brother-in-law, Charles Copeland; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Copeland and Mary Ann Copeland.
Private family burial is to be at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to Van Buren Fire Department in Kettlersville.
