Marjorie Maxine (Fogt) Smallwood, 82, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:10 a.m. Friday, March 16, 2012, at her residence.
She was born April 7, 1929, in St. Marys, the daughter of Eva (Phillips) and Clarence Fogt, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 10, 1948, she married Ray M. Smallwood, and he survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Barbara Ann (Michael A.) Selby, of Moulton, and Betty June Smallwood, of Ludlow Falls; four grandsons, Shane Selby and fiancĂ©e, Todd Selby, Chad (Amy) Selby, and Michael J. (Heather) Selby, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mabel Schwer.
A homemaker, Maxine worked at Turner Toy Co., Westinghouse Corp., and Superior Tube Co. She retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. in St. Marys after 24 years of service. She was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, and a former member of Brands Lake Fishing Club, both of Wapakoneta. A graduate of Cridersville High School, her hobbies included fishing, boating, bowling, and attending auctions. She loved animals, especially cats.
Services are at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, State Route 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Greg Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
