Marilyn J. Wallace, 78, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:23 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at St. Ritaâ€™s Medical Center in Lima.
She was born Sept. 10, 1934, in Pusheta Township, Auglaize County, the daughter of Hilda (Schweitzer) and Millard Koenig, who preceded her in death. On June 11, 1955, she married Robert L. Wallace, and he died July 1, 1993.
Surviving are a daughter, Vicki Bailey, of Wapakoneta; a son, Greg (Mary) Wallace, of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Matt (Jill Rhoad) Wallace, Sarah (Anthony Roberts) Wallace, Joshua (Stephanie) Bailey, and Ryan (Danielle Musselman) Bailey; a great-granddaughter, Kallie Anne Roberts; a brother, Donald (Jackie) Wallace, of Lima; a brother-in-law, Ron Spyker, of Wapakoneta; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Koenig, of Wapakoneta.
She was preceded in death by four sisters- and brothers-in-law, Evelyn (Sonny) Carmean, Betty Spyker, Patty (Bob) Sabo, and an infant Nancy; and a brother, Leroy Koenig.
A homemaker, Marilyn worked 17 years at the Auglaize County Probate Court. She also worked as a bookkeeper at Auglaize Acres and the Auglaize County Library. She later sold real estate with Binkley Real Estate in Wapakoneta. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta. Marilyn enjoyed reading and making crafts. She was an avid fan of The Ohio State University football and basketball teams. She was devoted to her grandchildren and supported them by her attendance at their activities.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Daniel Hunt officiating. Burial is to follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Long & Folk Chapel of Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, 13 S. Blackhoof St., Wapakoneta
