Marian Kentner, 97

Marian C. Kentner, 97, of Wapakoneta, died at 8:20 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Wapakoneta Manor.
She was born April 5, 1915, in Moulton Township. Auglaize County, the daughter of Henrietta (Rohrbacher) and Grover Lynch, who preceded her in death. On March 5, 1938, she married Cletus V. Kentner, and he died Jan. 9, 1961.
Also surviving are a son, Dean (Donna) Kentner, of Wapakoneta; five daughters, Joann (Larry) Jauert, of San Diego, Ruth Doering, of Wapakoneta, Barbara (Max) Place, of Wapakoneta, Yvonne Ruese, of Winchester, Va., and Joyce (Mike) Schlenker, of Wapakoneta,; a son-in-law, James Sawmiller, of Wapakoneta; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren aand great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jane Sawmiller; an infant son; two sons-in-law, Ned Doering and Mike Ruese; three brothers, Theodore Lynch, Raymond Lynch, and Emil Lynch; and four sisters, Winona Mees, Louetta Katterhenry, Berdella Kentner, and Catherine Lynch.
Marian retired in 1979 after 17 years of service as a cook at Buckland School. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Moulton, and a 1932 graduate of Blume High School. An avid quilter, she was an accomplished pie baker.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Moulton, with the Rev. Joy Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Loramie Valley Cemetery in Botkins.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
