A few local, well-known figures will join the more than 100 million expected viewers for NFL Super Bowl XLVIII Seattle Seahawks vs. Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said he will not miss the Super Bowl, as he is a "huge football fan and sports nut."
"Being a Browns fan, it is almost against the law to cheer for the Bronco’s, (The drive), (The fumble)," Solomon said. "I believe defense wins championships, and, while Seattle has the number one defense, Denver has the number one offense...the Bronco’s have more experience and they have Manning."
Solomon said he is expecting Denver to win, noting that it will be a good game.
He will be celebrating the Super Bowl at home with a small party of family and friends.
Solomon said he does not have any Super Bowl traditions.
"Until the Browns make it, which may be when I’m in a wheel chair," Solomon said.
Solomon said he is looking forward to "all of the pre-game, half time, game itself and post game summary."
Wapakoneta City School District Treasurer Angie Sparks said she is a football fan who is still learning the game. Sparks said her favorite football teams are the Wapakoneta Redskins and the Ohio State Buckeyes.
