A local man has been indicted on child pornography charges. Eric J. Wilkie, 56, 369 Northway Drive, St. Marys, faces five counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, two second-degree felonies and three fourth-degree felonies. He pleaded innocent to the charges and was ordered held on a $500,000 bond with a 10 percent cash provision. In addition to the cash provision, Wilkie may have no contact with minors or possess or use any device capable of accessing the Internet if he posts bond.

Wilkie was arrested on Nov. 5 by detectives from the Auglaize County Sheriff's Office following a tip from the Van Wert Police Department into Wilkie allegedly downloading child pornography. In a news release, Auglaize County Sheriff Al Solomon said the detective is trained in the field.

The alleged offenses against Wilkie took place on Sept. 23, Oct. 19 and Nov. 5. Wilkie remains in custody at the Auglaize County Jail. The case remains under investigation.
