Louis Charles Boltz, 89, 638 Southway Drive, St. Marys, died at 4:28 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at The Gardens in Celina.
He was born Feb. 9, 1922, in St. Marys, the son of Elizabeth (Moeller) and Harry Boltz Sr. On Aug. 29, 1941, in Adrian, Mich., he married Millicent A. Chiles, who died September 2, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara (John) Mihm, of St. Marys, Beverly (Rev. Carl) Ward, of Piqua; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Ann (Don) Brotherwood, of St. Marys, and Jane Boltz, of Coldwater, an adopted sister, Sue Lafleur, of St. Marys; a brother-in-law, Leo Chiles, of Cridersville, and a sister-in-law, Louise Boltz, of Cridersville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Charles Boltz and Louis Q. Boltz; a grandson, Shannon Mihm; two brothers, Harry “Johnny” Boltz, Jr. and Bill Boltz; and three sisters, Louise “Aim” McDermitt,, Esther Boltz and Jean Ackley.
He was a machinist in the tool and die industry. He attended Grace United Methodist Church in St. Marys.
He loved tinkering on automobiles, woodworking and aggravating his family.
Services are at 2 p.m. Friday at Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home in St. Marys, with the Rev. Charles Richtmyer officiating. Burial will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home on High Street.
