Lois V. Posey, 96, of Harrison, Mich., formerly of Saginaw, Mich., passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Wapakoneta, the daughter of Carolyn (Zerkle) and Lewis Bowersock. On Dec. 24, 1935, in Wapakoneta, she was united in marriage to Roy G. Posey in Wapakoneta.
Lois was a member of the St. Johns Lutheran Church of Gladwin, Michigan. Mrs. Posey has lived in the Harrison area since 1972 where she had moved from Saginaw, Mich. Lois enjoyed cooking and baking for large groups, playing cards, singing, playing guitar and telling stories. She especially enjoyed going to bible study. Lois was loved by many who call her Mom and Grandma.
Mrs. Posey is survived by her two sons, Ronald Posey, of Denmark and Roger (Charlene) Posey, of St. Charles, Mich.; a daughter, Caren (Carl) Hoeft, of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Robert (Dorothy) Bowersock, of Wapakoneta; and her sisters, Jennie (Leonard) Spacht, of Wapakoneta, and Norma Green of Buckland; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy, who passed away in 1991; a son Roy Lewis, who passed away in 1946; a daughter, Carol Little, who passed away in 1976; two brothers, Ralph and Richard Bowersock and two sisters, Lila Bowersock and Eunice Ritter.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Stocking Funeral Home in Harrison, Mich.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. from the St. Johns Lutheran Church in Gladwin, Mich., with the Rev. Paul Metzger officiating.
A memorial service and inurnment are being planned at a later date in Buckland.
