Lois I. Stinebaugh, 82, of Springfield, died peacefully with her husband by her side on Monday, June 23, 2014, after a long illness.
Lois was born on March 2, 1932, in Wapakoneta, to the late Charles and Blanche (Dapper) Kantner, and was married to her high school sweetheart, Donald, for 61 years. Lois devoted her life to her loving family, and looked forward to family vacations in an oceanfront location each year. She loved playing cards with friends, and was a loyal member of the Northridge Lioness Club for several decades. She put her ample cooking skills to use as a party planner and caterer, and enjoyed dabbling in interior decorating.
Lois and Don raised four children: daughter, Sheryl (Stinebaugh) Circle, and her husband, John, reside in Greenwood, Ind., son, Bert Stinebaugh, and his wife, Janette, reside in Midlothian, Va., and daughter-in-law, Chesta Stinebaugh, lives in Springboro, Ohio. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Earl Kantner, of Canal Winchester; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra (Stinebaugh) Bednarczyk, of New Carlisle, and son, Jay Stinebaugh, of Springboro; a sister, Ruby; and a brother, Emmett.
Lois’ funeral service will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday, in the Littleton & Rue Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 3 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Ferncliff Cemetery. Following the committal service, the family will join with friends for a meal at the Northridge Lions Den, 4590 Derr. Road, Springfield.
