Local woman sentenced for failure to appear, trespass

Abigail Current, 19, of Wapakoneta, was sentenced Jan. 10 to 17 months in the Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville, on one count of failure to appear, a fourth degree felony, for an offense that occurred on July 26, 2017, in addition to post release control time and post release control violation time.

She was originally arraigned Aug. 22 and pled not guilty to the charge. A pretrial was set for Sept 6, at 2:15 p.m. A motion for intervention in lieu of conviction was filed on Sept. 14. A hearing on that motion was set for 11:30 a.m. Nov. 22, wherein the intervention in lieu of conviction was approved.

On Nov. 27, the court ordered the intervention in lieu of conviction to cease until defendant was brought before the court and a bench warrant was issued for her arrest.
