Attention local artists — Riverside Art Center in downtown Wapakoneta is accepting work from craftspeople ranging in all age and experience levels to be exhibited in this year’s Annual Greater Wapakoneta Community Art Exhibit.

Artists are encouraged to bring up to seven works of art to the juried show, including watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings, pencil and ink drawings, and carving, jewelry or other 3D art forms. Photographs will not be accepted.

Prizes will be awarded to the overall best art submitted, including three $100 and three $50 awards, and ribbons will be awarded for honorable mention and to the best youth art submitted.

Although many community members like to participate for the chance to win, Assistant Gallery Director Pam Knoch said many artists participate simply to showcase their work for the community to view and enjoy.

“Most artists are pretty excited to enter their works into it and come to the opening reception,” Knoch said. “They like to have feedback from the public of their work, even if they’re not interested in buying it, comments are appreciated.”
