For 15 years, Dawn Johns had the dream of opening up her own herb shop in her hometown of Wapakoneta.

Today if you walk by 105 E. Auglaize St., you will see that Johns is making her dream a reality.

Adrienne’s Herb Shoppe opened on February 28, specializing in organic vitamins, foods and supplements.

Organic means that the plants used to make the herbs and food she sells have not been sprayed with any chemicals, therefore, using the product may reduce your risk of getting cancer, Johns said.

“I’m not saying that cancer is caused by that (inorganic products), but it’s potentially a factor,” Johns said. “So, if you’re trying to eliminate things out of your life to reduce the possibility of cancer, it would be better to increase the consumption of organic products.”
