Lester Seibert, 84

Lester Willis “Pinky” Seibert, 84, of rural Spencerville, died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima with his daughters at his bedside.
He was born March 16, 1928, at his family farm in Salem Township, Auglaize County, the son of Doris I. (Mack) and John A. Seibert, who preceded him in death. On Sept. 17, 1949, he married Rose Marie Pine, who died Jan. 14, 2005.
Surviving are four daughters, Beverly (Jerry) Hoenie, of St. Marys, Judy Schweitzer, of Spencerville, Gloria Jean (Ralph) Stueve, of Minster, and Debra (John) Moeller, of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Cris (Sue) Schweitzer, of Spencerville, Matt Hoenie, of Columbus, Eric Schweitzer, of Spencerville, Missy (Justin) Schmitmeyer, of Minster, Jason Stueve, of Minster, and Jeremy Hoenie, of St. Marys; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clayton (Marilyn) Seibert, of Spencerville, and Lloyd (Ruby) Seibert, of Van Wert; two sisters-in-law, Naomi Seibert, of Wapakoneta, and Carol Mae Shobe, of Delphos; and his pup, “Buster.”
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert “Bob” Seibert, and an infant sister, Dorothy Seibert.
He was a 1947 graduate of Spencerville High School. He was a lifelong farmer and had also worked at the Lima Locomotive Works and National Seal Company in Van Wert, from which he retired in 1993. He was a member of the Buckeye Farm Antiques Club. He enjoyed tractor pulls and antique tractor rides.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville, with the Rev. Tom Shobe officiating. Burial will follow at the New Salem Cemetery in Salem Township.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
