Lasting shelter project — local Boy Scout builds shelter house to help park

Dan Reichenbach is building a shelter house to earn his Eagle Scout.

A Wapakoneta High School sophomore works with a small crew of men Saturday at Breakfast Optimist Park, the former site of Centennial Elementary School, building a shelter house on the north edge of the property.
Dan Reichenbach, 15, who is a Boy Scout with Troop 14 under George Herman, lifts a preconstructed rafter for the roof of his Eagle Scout project. He is building a 16-foot by 24-foot shelter house for the park near playground equipment.
