LaKhrista M Rigdon, 27, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, in American Falls, Idaho, from a car accident.
She was born July 16, 1985, in Lima.
Surviving are her mother, Teresa L Poindexter; her father, Mark E Rigdon; three sisters, Latisha M. (Brian) Schroeder, LaNeea M. (Michael) Segovia, and LaManda M. (Desaeth) Hernandez; and two half-sisters, Katrina Rigdon and Brianna Rigdon; 3 children, Haley M. Merritt, Natalie M. Merritt, and Kaden J Nebeker; a great-grandmother, Ruth Kortier; nine nieces and nephews; and lots of cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, William and Clara Rigdon; maternal grandparents, Robert and Bettie Gumm; great-grandparents, Ralph Kortier, Clearance and Ann Gumm, and Margret Kohn; and two uncles, Robert Brannon and John Arden Gumm.
LaKhrista could accomplish anything she put her mind to. She was a caregiver for Home Helpers for 1 1/2 years. LaKhrista moved to Idaho with one of her sisters and her mother in 2001. As a little girl she was very girly and could never leave the house without doing her make-up and using almost the whole can of hair spray on her hair. She was a very good student and always got awards for haven good grades. She wanted to go back to school for her RN and was working on going back next year. She has three amazing children that she loved doing things with. She loved doing outdoor things with her kids. Listening to music was one of her favorite things to do; she always had to listen to her favorite songs.
Services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lima Community Church of the Nazarene, 2945 N. Cole St., Lima, with the Rev. Russel Gumm officiating.
