Kurt Metzger, 53

Kurt Allan Metzger, 53 of Coldwater, died at 7:55 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Briarwood Village in Coldwater.
He was born May 13, 1959, in Lima, the son of Maris Yuteve (Kirchner) and Kermit E. ‘Whitey’ Metzger, who survive in Wapakoneta.
Also surviving are a sister, Elisha (Bart) Smith, of Wapakoneta; two nieces, Andrea Smith Brookhart and Emily Smith; an uncle and aunt, Norman and Bonnie Kirchner; and many cousins.
Mr. Metzger was a member of the Aktion of Mercer County. He attended the Cheryl Ann Programs of Mercer County. He enjoyed bowling for the Big Brothers/Sisters, camping, traveling and the Special Olympics.
Services are at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home in Cridersville, with the Rev. Kevin Newman officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the Cheryl Ann Programs Activity Fund, 4980 Mud Pike, Celina, or Briarwood Village, 100 Don Desch Drive, Activity Fund, Coldwater.
