Keith Palmer, 72

Keith A. Palmer, 72, of Wapakoneta, died at 2:49 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Lima Memorial Health Systems.
He was born June 19, 1940 in Lansing, Mich., the son of the late Vera (Watkins) and Kenneth Palmer. He married Alice Myers and she survives.
Also surviving are four sons, Greg Palmer, of Lima, Kenneth (Krystal) Palmer, of Harrison, Mich., Michael (Patti) Palmer, of Miamisburg, and Steven Hayes, of Lakeview; three daughters, Dawn (Greg) Johns, of Wapakoneta, Brenda (Rob) Hughes, of New Knoxville, and Amanda Palmer, of Vandalia; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Broce (Candy) Palmer, of Wapakoneta, and Doug (Elaine) Palmer, of Columbus; and a sister Jeanne (Dave) Pauly, of Vermillion.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Eric Hayes and Jessica Palmer.
Keith worked at Teledyne Ohio Steel for 30 years and retired from Metokote Corporation in 2000. He was a 1958 graduate of Shawnee High School, and had an associates degree from The University of California. He was a member of the Eagles Post 1288 of Wapakoneta, and the Loyal Order of Moose Post 1533. He was an avid collector of Kerosene Lanterns.
Through his life he stood strong for God, Family, and Country.
Services are at 11 a.m. Monday at Armentrout Funeral Home in Waynesfield, with the Rev. Kathleen Hayes officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 pm Sunday at the funeral home.
