Kay M. DeKok, 73, of Lima, died at 3:52 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Lima.
She was born May 27, 1938, in Lima, to Nellie Brincefield and Arthur Binkley. Both parents are deceased. On April 3, 1960, she married Dirk DeKok, and he survives in Lima.
Also surviving is a son, Tony (Mona) DeKok, of Lima; two grandsons, David DeKok and Dyllon DeKok; two great-grandchildren, Morgan DeKok and Elijah Dekok; and a sister, Marilyn (Paul) Wilges.
She was preceded in death by five half-brothers: Herbert Fry, Louis R.Fry, William Fry, Charles Fry and Lloyd Binkley; and three half-sisters: Louella â€śSusieâ€ť Howley, Mary Sprague, and Marjorie Moorman.
Kay was a graduate of Shawnee High school in 1956. She was a member of Perry United Methodist Church, Eagles Lodge Aerie 370 Auxiliary. She enjoyed bus trips, dancing and bowling. Kay worked as a long distance operator for Lima Telephone Company. She also volunteered with the Perry Township Election Boards.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Burkhart officiating. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
