She was born Oct. 28, 1944, at home in Columbus Grove, Ohio. She is the daughter of Mary E. (Hofffman) and Elmer L. Kohli. Both parents are deceased. On June 25, 1980 she married Richard M. “Dick” Bowdle at St. Mark’s Church in Clay Township, who survives in Cridersville.
Other survivors include a son, Jeffery L. Cogar, of Cridersville; a foster son, Lester Webb, of North Carolina; a brother, Robert “Bob” (Opal) Kohli, of Continental; a sister, Jean Luxon, of El Paso, Texas; a sister-in-law, Joyce Kohli of Glandorf; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Keith Kohli and a brother that died in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Dale Luxon.
Mrs. Bowdle was a farm wife and bookkeeper with her loving husband and attended the Lima Baptist Temble. She graduated from Columbus Grove High School; had worked as a cashier with Miami Valley Tool, Tractor Supply, and Cracker Barrel. She always had fun helping with bingo at the Uniopolis Volunteer Fire Department’s Jamboree, until her health no longer allowed her.
Family came first, going out of her way and always putting their needs ahead of her own. She expecially liked going to their “water front pad” at Indian Lake and skimming across the lake in their boat.
She enjoyed clowning around, had a great sense of humor, and was very quick witted. On a bad day she was a ray of sunshine. She loved going to flea markets, collecting frongs and purses.
Funeral services will begin 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery north of Uniopolis.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Uniopolis Volunteer Fire Department.
