John Wehrle, 82

John Francis Wehrle, 82 of Findlay, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2011, at Blanchard Valley Hospital in Bluffton surrounded by his loving children.
He was born on Dec. 27, 1928, in Freyburg, the son of Marina (Hemmert) and Albert Wehrle. On May 24, 1950, he married Eileen Schweitzer and she preceded him in death on Nov. 28, 2003.
He is survived by four sons, Michael J. (Cynthia) Wehrle, of Toledo, Dennis P. (Linda) Wehrle, of Findlay, Robert J, of Findlay, and Kevin J. (Jeanna), of Findlay; five daughters, Marcele A. (Rick) Baldridge, of Carey, Bernadine M. (John) Blide, of Findlay, Anita J. (Christopher) Huber, of Findlay, Lynnette A. (J. Benjamin) Taylor, of Findlay, and Annette M. McKinniss, of Findlay; a brother, Paul Wehrle, of Sidney; and a sister, Ruthelyn Schneider, of Wapakoneta.
He was preceded in death by a son, James L. Wehrle; a grandson, Andrew C. Baldridge; and a sister, Mary Ann Copeland.
He was the proud grandfather of 22 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
John graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in 1947. He worked at Wapakoneta Farmer’s Grain until moving to Findlay in 1959. In 1992 he retired as manager of the Arlington Elevator and Supply Co. after 33 years. He was the owner and operator of John Wehrle Shuttle Service until shortly before his death. He was a parishioner of the Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Findlay, where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Findlay, with the Rev. Michael Hohenbrink officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home in Findlay. A rosary service will be held at 8 p.m.
