Jennifer Helberg, 40

Jennifer Anne (Westbay) Helberg, 40, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Ala.
She was born May 21, 1972, the daughter of Rev. Nancy L. and Michael V. and Westbay, who survive in Wapakoneta. On Aug. 29, 2000, she married Joseph Helberg, who survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Rylie Gwen, at home; a grandfather, Vernon Westbay, of Bellefontaine; a brother, Christopher M. Westbay and family (Melissa, Christopher and Chloe), of Hilliard; and a step-daughter, Christine Helberg, of McClure.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Harold and Ruth Presar; her paternal grandmother; LaVerta Westbay; and her infant niece, Cara Westbay.
Jennifer and her husband and daughter, Rylie Gwen (10) moved to Helena, Alabama in the summer of 2011.
Jennifer was a 1990 graduate of Coldwater High School and in 2006 received a bachelor of philosophy degree with honors from Bowling Green State University. At the time of her death, she was an administrative assistant with the Shelby County, Alabama Humane Society.
Jennifer was a loving wife and mother. She loved animals, especially cats and dogs. She also loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She gave of herself freely.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with the Revs. R.J. Davis Tamara Wood officiating.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be done privately at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shelby County, Alabama Humane Society, to a scholarship fund that will be established for her daughter, Rylie Gwen, or to a church or charity of the donor’s choice.
Arrangements are with Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home at 1102 Lincoln Highway in Wapakoneta.
