Janice A. Myers, 77, of Cridersville, died at noon Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Oct. 21, 1936, in Lima to Derwood and Genevieve Arnold Aspinall, who preceded her in death. She married Ned Edward Myers in 1953 who survives in Cridersville.
Janice had been a L.P.N. in the Emergency Room at St. Rita’s Hospital and later at Plus Health Care and Baton Rouge Nursing Homes. She was a co-owner of the former Myers Hardware Store in Cridersville and Celina. She was a founding member of the Cridersville C.C.L. and Cridersville Historical Society, chairperson of the Cridersville Tree Commission and member of the Cridersville Business Association. Mrs. Myers had also taught C.P.R. for the Auglaize County Red Cross. She had attended Lima Central High School.
Additional survivors include a son, Gregory Myers; daughters, Jennifer (Christopher) Saunders and Stacey (Brian) Cook, all of Cridersville; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bradley) Niekamp, Evan (Ashley Fuerst) Saunders and Ethan Saunders; a great grandson, Noah Niekamp; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Aspinall, of Williams Bay, Wis., and Vera Myers, of Cridersville; a brother-in-law, Ray Stager, of Loveland, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by stepfather Richard Dole, brother Carl Aspinall, sister Jacqeline Stager and brother-in-law C. W. “Wes” Myers.
The family will receive friends 1-4 and 6-8 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. - noon at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. The funeral service will begin noon on Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Jonathan Spyker officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Matthew Cemetery.
