James Schaub, 75

James H. “Jim” Schaub, 75, of Wapakoneta, died at 4:55 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, at Lima Memorial Health System of complications following open heart surgery.

He was born Dec. 7, 1937, in rural Wapakoneta, the son of Ella (Morris) and Lewis Schaub, who preceded him in death. On Feb 5, 1964, he married Betty J. Carroll, and she survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Betty (Rod) Brown, of Hobe Sound, Fla.; six grandchildren, Alexa (fiancée Johnny) Miller, Brittany, Jessica, Zachary, Andrea, and Meagan Brown; a sister, Sue Spencer, of Lima; and two pet Yorkie dogs, Bella and Daisy.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Bill Schaub. Jim retired from the Auglaize County Engineers Office after 40 years service with the bridge crew and as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Buckeye Farm Antiques and was an avid John Deere tractor collector. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and caring for his dogs.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bayliff and Eley Funeral Home, St. Rt. 501, Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Bill Spencer officiating.

Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens near Moulton, where military rites will be conducted. T

he family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
