Jack Emrick, 45

Jack J. Emrick, 45, of Wapakoneta, died at 1:25 p.m., Saturday, July 30, 2011, at the Lima Memorial Health System emergency room from injuries sustained in an accident at his home site near Wapakoneta.
He was born Feb. 7, 1966, in Lima, the son of Ruth (Thuman) and James Walker Emrick. His mother survives in Wapakoneta, and his father died April 19, 2011. He is also survived by his partner Lisa Bowman.
Also surviving are a daughter, Brooke Emrick, of Miami; a son, Reid Walker Emrick, of Wapakoneta; Lisa’s children, Carter and Joselyn Bowman; five siblings, Ann (Charlie) Shoup, Susan (Donnie) Nichols, and Jan (Joe) Green, all of Wapakoneta, David (Kim) Emrick, of Liberty Twp., Tony ( Robin) Emrick, Carmel, Ind; nine nieces and nephews, Craig Walkup, Emily Walkup, Nathan (Alicia) Green, Natalie Green, Joda Green, Jennifer Shoup, Austin, Andrew, and Raquel Emrick, Trevor & Taylor Emrick.
He was preceded in death by a niece, Natalie Perry.
Jack owned and operated J & E Electrical, in Wapakoneta. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the Sons of the American Legion, Post 330, both of Wapakoneta. A 1984 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, he lettered in football, basketball and track. For 12 years, he served as a licensed football official with the Ohio High School Athletic Assn. An avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds, he was a friend to everyone and enjoyed helping others. He liked to attend concerts, but most especially loved entertaining and spending time with his family. He supported local sports and attended high school games. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wapakoneta, the Rev. Matthew Lee officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Wapakoneta.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
