Irwin Baumer, 88

Irwin R. “Sparky” Baumer, 88, formerly of East Fourth Street in Minster, and a resident of Otterbein-St. Marys, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
He was born May 26, 1923, in Minster, to Bernadine (Sextro) and Bernard Baumer. On May 19, 1947, he married Eileen T. Eisert and she died Jan. 9, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Daniel Baumer, of Orlando, Fla.; and two daughters, Linda Baumer, of Minster, and Beth Hinker, of Minster.
Services are at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Augustine Church in Minster, with the Rev. Rick Nieberding officiating. Burial with full military rites will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery in Minster.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Minster.
Donations may be given to Otterbein-St. Marys Life Enrichment Center.
