Iris Burwell, 102

Iris Ann Burwell, 102, formerly of Wapakoneta, and a longtime resident of the St. Marys Living Center, died at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at the St. Marys Living Center.
She was born Feb. 2, 1909, in Lima, the daughter of Lillian (Burton) and Daniel Armentrout. On May 2, 1927, she married Guy Burwell and he preceded her in death in October 1993.
Surviving are a son, Lowell Burwell, of Liberty, Ind.; a daughter, LaDonna (Paul) Kogge, of St. Marys; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Gerald Armentrout; a sister, Rowena Smith; and one great-grandchild.
She attended Lima South High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Wapakoneta Ladies’ Garden Club.
Private burial rites will be held at Lima Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Richard Briggs officiating.
Memorial donations may be given to the donor’s choice.
