Irene Lunz, 90

Irene I. Lunz, 90, of Wapakoneta, died at 9:55 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2013, at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys.
She was born June 12, 1922, in New Bremen, the daughter of Lydia Elizabeth (Schneider) and Glendor Charles Jung, who preceded her in death. On June 12, 1946, she married Elmer A. Lunz, who died July 24, 1973.
Surviving are a daughter, Diane E. Lunz, of Wapakoneta; a son, Donald R. Lunz, of Ottawa; two sisters-in-law, Louise Jung, of Wapakoneta, and Sue Jung, of Columbus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mildred Schroer, Agnes Schroer, Verneta Fisher, and Joan Liesner; and four brothers, Milton Jung, Richard Jung, David Jung, and John Jung.
A homemaker, Irene was baptized and confirmed in St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, in New Bremen. She enjoyed working word search puzzles and activities at the Auglaize Acres, especially bingo.
Graveside services are scheduled to be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, with the Rev. Steve Wills officiating.
There will be no public visitation.
Arrangements are being conducted by the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home in Wapakoneta.
