Interim officers set at library

February 26, 2013

Auglaize County Public District Library Director Beth Steiner will now serve as the library district’s fiscal officer and Youth Services Coordinator Karie Maurer-Enneking added the responsibilities of deputy fiscal officer on Monday.

Auglaize County Public District Library Board of Directors decided Monday to give the responsibilities of fiscal officer and deputy fiscal officer to Steiner and Enneking, respectfully, although they will not take care of the books on a daily basis. They will oversee the financial ledger and keep track of the finances on a temporary basis.

Dana Webb, a 15-year employee of the local public library, announced last week she was leaving her position as fiscal officer for the library district. Webb accepted a position with Wapakoneta  City Schools, where she will process payroll for the school district.

Her last official day with the library will be March 15, but her last day of work due to vacation days will be March 8. She is scheduled to start her new position with the schools on March 11.

Board members also decided to contract with employment firm Accountemps to find a temporary worker to perform most of the accounting duties generally reserved for the fiscal officer position.

“They (Accountemps) have someone in mind, and we have seen the resume,” Library Board President Pat Block said. “We will likely sign a contract sometime Tuesday (today).”

Block said no timetable has been set to permanently fill the position and that the temporary person would start likely within a week.

The fiscal officer position will be posted sometime in March.
