Homer Ray Robinette, 70

Homer Ray Robinette, 70, 1126 Nagel Street, Saint Marys, died at 11:56 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at Doctor’s West Hospital, in Columbus, following a sudden illness.
He was born June 2, 1941, in Williamson, W. Va., the son of Effie (Blacke) and Lee Robinette.
He is survived by his longtime special friend, Willia Skeens, of St. Marys; his two children, Melissa J. Plokhooy, of St. Marys, and Ray (Stephanie) Robinette, of Monticello, Ky.; and two grandchildren, Shelby Elson and Wesley Robinette. He is survived by four sisters, Lottie Kirk, of Columbus; Maxine Noan, of Carey; Bonnie Watts, of Columbus; and Nella Watts, of Columbus, and by four brothers, Jim Robinette, of Sycamore; Jeff Robinette, of Williamson, W. Va.; Carlos Robinette, of Plain City; and Walter Robinette, of Columbus, and by numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Orville Robinette; two sisters, Wanda Robinette and Lucille Kirk; and three grandsons: Dillon, Preston and Jordan Robinette.
Homer retired from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Saint Marys after 30 years of service and he also owned and operated a lawn care service for many years.He was a member of Eagles Lodge 767 and VFW Post 9289, both in Saint Marys. He loved attending auto races at Eldora Motor Speedway and will be missed by his many friends there. He loved spending time with his family and friends, fishing and doing outside work.
Funeral rites are scheduled for 11a.m. Saturday at the Miller Funeral Home, 1605 Celina Road, Saint Marys, with the Rev. John Mobley officiating. Burial is to follow at Elm Grove Cemetery.
