Herschel Ray Arthur, 90

Herschel Ray Arthur, 90, died at 11:35 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012 at Auglaize Acres in Wapakoneta, Auglaize County.
Herschel was born March 18, 1922, in Stokes Township, Logan County, to Ethel (Naylor) and Howard Ray Arthur, who proceeded him in death. On Feb. 6, 1944, at the New Hampshire Methodist Church, he married Suzanne Gillam, who died on June 27, 1971. On May 2, 1992, at the Waynesfield Baptist Church, he married Hazel Caudill Banks, who passed away on April 3, 2009.
Surviving are two sons and their wives, Byron Edwin and Nancy Boltz Arthur of Mesa, Ariz., and Gary Lee and Connie Schramm Arthur, of Delphos; two daughters and their husbands, Rebecca Sue and Michael Lawrence, of New Hampshire, and Sharon Kay and Dale Surber, of Marion; a brother and his wife, Roger Mack and Delores Arthur, of Harrod; a sister-in-law and her husband, Vaude (Arthur) and Ralph Hubbell; nine grandchildren; Pamela Steele, Nikki Commans and Melissa (Geoffery) Barr, Sr., all of Arizona, Eric Arthur (Stacey Naylor), of Lakeview, Gregory (Jodi) Arthur, of Delphos, Chad Lawrence, of Waynesfield, Natasha (Richard) Wilson, of Raymond, Shane (Stacey) Lawrence, of Columbus, Shawn Arthur, of Lakeland, Fla.; three step-grandchildren, Linda Surber, of Austin, Texas, Lori (Paul) Anglemyer, of Kenton, Benjamin Uncapher, of Delphos; 11 great-grandchildren, Ashley Steele, Brandy Evantash, Jordon Jones, Corey Arthur, Tristan Comman, Geoffery Barr, Jr. Ciara Barr, Curtis Wilson, Ty Lawrence, Kylie Lawrence, and Dominic Herschel Arthur; 6 step-great-grandchildren, Jasmyn Barr, Torri Bright Wilson, Chelsea (Jordan) Shepherd, Kaitlyn Manns, Abigail Anglemyer, and Spencer Anglemyer; and a great-great-granddaughter, Sophia Arthur.
He is also survived by Hazel’s family, step-daughter and husband, Martha and Ronald Hamilton, Enon, Ronald and Jean Banks, of Waynesfield; a son-in-law, Bruce Finney, of Lakeview; five step-grandchildren, Brian Hamilton, Michael Hamilton, Sheri (Eric) Markley, Jeffery (Angela) Finney, Curtis Banks; eight step-great-grandchildren; and special neighbors Randy and Judy Collins.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and wives; Ralph and Neva Arthur, Wilson and Ruth Arthur, Vern Arthur, Gerald and Gwena (Mickey) Arthur, and Ronald (Dick) Arthur; two sisters and their husbands, Wava Bonnetta and Harry Cummings, Georgia Maxine and Rufus Melvin Hedrick; two infant sisters; a granddaughter, Teresa Arthur; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Finney.
Herschel was a member of the Waynesfield Baptist Church where he was baptized Sept. 22, 1996.
Herschel retired from Lippincott Plumbing, Heating & Air-Conditioning, Inc. in Lima and was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, Local 776. He also worked at Clark Equipment and Excello, Lima. He was most proud of being a life time farmer in Goshen and Wayne Townships until his retirement and was a member of the Ohio Farm Bureau. He also served on the Goshen Township school board in New Hampshire. His passion were enjoying his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and their activities.
Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Waynesfield Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire.
Friends my call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Armentrout Funerals Home in Waynesfield 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
