Gerald Harrison, 80

Mr. Gerald “Buzz” Harrison, 80, of Griffin, Ga., passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Spalding Regional Hospital.
He was born in Wapakoneta on June 23, 1933. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and LaVera Metz Harrison.
Mr. Harrison was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as the Regional Vice President and Manager for Central Insurance Company in Boston after 33 years of service. Additionally, he was an active member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where he was also a member of the Over 50 Group and the Knights of Columbus.
He is fondly remembered by those who loved him including his wife of 59 years, Mary Joanne Harrison; their children and their spouses, Steve and Carole Harrison, Cheryl Jones, Karen and Tommy Beman, Diane and Bill Davidson, Christine and Jack D’Ambrosia, and Susan and Scott Yokley; 16 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Rickert; two brothers, James Harrison and Thomas Harrison; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Juan officiating.
