The Wapakoneta Antique and Specialty Shops (WASS) hosted its first annual vintage wedding gala Saturday at Village Green.

With food samples from Cloud Nine Catering and a wonderful display of vintage clothing, accessories, dinnerware and an assortment of much more, Village Green owner Blaine Kohler believes the day was a success.

“I think it was great,” Kohler said. “I think WASS had a really good turnout for their businesses.”

Present at the gala were booths from Casa Chic, Relics, Thrifty Treasures, Village Green and Children of the Mist-Couturier de Brodneaux.

“Actually we had a really good turnout from everybody,” Kohler said. “I mean our only challenge was, it’s the time of year where we’re starting to grow in the green house, so just trying to find some space. So I mean I guess if the thing continues to grow or if  it is something they’re going to do every year, space may end up being an issue in the future, but right now I feel like it went really well.”

Couturier de Brodneaux, a St. Marys based business owned by Suzanne Hoelscher and her husband Michael, focuses on purveying custom clothing, hats and various accoutrements for the historical reenacting community, as well as hosting seminars, make-it-take-it workshops and custom orders.

Dressed in her Regency, Jane Austen-era attire, Hoelscher explained how historical reenactments became a great passion of hers.
