Fred Aukerman Jr., 81

Fred Aukerman Jr., 81, a resident of Otterbein St. Marys Retirement Community, formerly of Findlay, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012, at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.
He was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Wabash, Ind., the son of Fred H. B. and Ruby (Keefer) Aukerman. On June 5, 1955, at Oak Grove Church of God in Columbia City, Ind., he married Arline E. Hawn, and she survives at the residence in St. Marys.
Also surviving are two sons, Hugh Aukerman, of Celina, and Roger Aukerman, of Normal, Ill.; and a daughter, Betty Kennedy, of Wooster.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Meyer Community Chapel on the campus of Otterbein St. Marys, with the Rev. Richard Van Horn officiating. Full military honors will be observed at Otterbein St. Marys following the funeral rites. Burial will be held at the Compton Cemetery in Columbia City, Ind.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Community Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Otterbein St. Marys Benevolent Fund or to Camp Otyokwah Church of God.
