A Findlay-based company has established a site that will allow Wapakoneta residents to dump concrete, asphalt, brick and block material on the property of the old Wapakoneta Machine Company at the intersection of North and Water Street.
Go Green LLC, which specializes in crushing, grinding and shredding recyclable materials, is currently accepting the items listed above.
Adam Miller, General Manager of Go Green LLC, said that the job site is temporary, and that the company will accept material until they feel they have enough to recycle.
“If we build up enough material, maybe around 500 tons, we’ll crush it, recycle it and move it out,” Miller said. “And then we’ll resell it to people in the area.”
Miller said that most of the material they get is from area residents who can then reuse it after it has been broken down.
“It’s a good outlet for contractors, farmers or any other resident,” he said. “ Instead of throwing it in a creek or burying it in the ground, we provide a more environmentally-friendly outlet for people to use.”
For residents who live in close proximity to the work site, Miller said that they do not need to worry because their machines are low-decibel and they have dust and water control devices set up to ensure the area doesn’t get too dirty.
Miller also said the company has attained all the required permits and is approved by the EPA.
Any materials that are to be dumped on site must first be approved by Go Green LLC.
